MFR works locally with the Madrileño community of refugees, where we feel we are the most needed and can act in the most efficient way. By building partnerships with refugee centres and coordinating local resources, we are able to provide direct and concrete help to the refugees in Madrid. Through awareness-raising, we seek to expand our reach in order to build a real community of people feeling concerned by the current crisis and ready to help at the small scale. Though in the past we have collaborated with humanitarian projects abroad, we have decided to focus our efforts locally to make sure that ‘Refugees Welcome’ becomes more than just a message on top of a building.
