Madrid For Refugees

Digital literacy

Madrid For Refugees’ course on digital literacy teaches computing skills for social integration and job-seeking to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants. Over 12 lessons, students gain exposure to the basics of computing – including keyboard use, internet navigation, email, and Google Workspace – in order to help them develop important digital skills for today’s job market. Taught in Spanish by volunteer instructors, this highly practical program leads to a more advanced course for interested students, covering Office and Excel use and job-hunting techniques. Upon completion, students walk away with crucial skills for keeping up with our digital world, as well as a certificate of completion.

Students are accepted to the course following nominations from partner refugee organizations and an interview process.
