Volunteers are the driving force behind Madrid For Refugees
Volunteers play an important role in our work and the continued growth of MFR as we strive to help refugees integrate into
Spanish society and empower them to create their own opportunities here, while also working to educate locals about refugee issues.
The Madrid For Refugees team is made up of volunteers who are highly-qualified international professionals in Madrid with a diverse range of skills, backgrounds, languages, and expertise. MFR has over 50 volunteers from many countries from around the world. Volunteers support with fundraising, writing grants, translating, planning events, NGO and business partnerships, communications, budgets and organizational planning, helping refugees find jobs, organizing donations of items and much more.
We believe that being a volunteer should not only mean giving, which is why we also strongly focus on personal and professional development for the people that collaborate with us. This means providing the space to put skills into practice and participating in educational sessions and encouraging cross-collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Most of our opportunities do not require more than a few hours per week and we are only accepting committed volunteers that will be with us for at least 6 months, unless otherwise indicated. Kindly note that due to the high volume of requests we receive, we may not be able to get back to all applicants.
