Legal Status
Madrid For Refugees (MFR) is a nonprofit community organization founded in 2015 in Madrid, Spain. The association was formally registered in the Spanish Registry of Associations in 2016.
Since its founding, MFR has worked to support the social and economic inclusion of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants through community-led educational, cultural and employability initiatives.

Governance & Organizational Structure
Madrid For Refugees is governed by an elected Executive Committee composed of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Strategic decisions are adopted within the framework of the General Assembly and implemented by the Executive Committee.
MFR is primarily volunteer-driven. Program coordination and operational decisions are carried out collaboratively between the Executive Committee, program leads, and volunteer teams.
We operate through a community-led model: beneficiaries are active members of the community and may participate as volunteers, collaborators, mentors, or program contributors. This mutual-aid approach strengthens sustainability, ownership, and long-term impact.
