Nómade LAB is a free dance and movement laboratory for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees living in Madrid. The project was born as a space of encounter, care and collective creation, where the body is understood as its own territory: a place of memory, expression and identity.
At Nómade LAB, dance is not considered as a closed technique or as an aesthetic requirement, but as a broad and accessible language. Through guided sessions, participants can explore movement at their own pace, release tension, express emotions and generate bonds in a safe and respectful environment. No previous dance experience is necessary.
The sessions are held at the headquarters of Madrid For Refugees (Metro: Puerta de Toledo), on Sunday afternoons (17:30-20:00).
Facilitator
The laboratory is facilitated by Nayara Romero (VJOLLK), Colombian visual artist and performative dancer. Her artistic practice investigates the body as a symbolic and expressive channel, integrating contemporary dance, somatic techniques, improvisation and visual arts. His work proposes spaces where authenticity, presence and collective care are fundamental.
